5-axis machining
With a fully 5-axis Brother Speedio M300, we machine complex parts in a single set-up. The machine can both mill and turn in the same set-up.
Brother Speedio M300 – milling and turning in one machine
The Speedio M300Xd1-5AX was installed in spring 2025. It has a fully 5-axis table, travels of 300 / 440 / 385 mm and a 16,000 rpm spindle for milling. The table can also rotate for turning at up to 1,500 rpm.
Benefits of 5-axis machining
Fewer set-ups
The part can be machined from all sides without being moved. This shortens set-up time and keeps dimensions between different sides consistent.
Complex geometries
Angled holes, inclined surfaces and shapes that are hard to reach with 3-axis milling can be machined directly.
Milling and turning in one machine
Rotationally symmetrical sections can be turned in the same set-up as the rest of the part is milled, in one of the fastest machines on the market.

On the M300 we machine aluminium, brass, zinc, plastics and mild steel.
